The new DITECH direct electronic injection is one generation ahead of the rest. Unlike traditional two-stroke engines, the petrol is no longer mixed with the oil and air in the crankcase, but rather injected directly into the combustion chamber by a sophisticated injector, managed by an electronic control unit.

The fuel is injected only when the exhaust ports are closed: this significantly minimises the emission of unburned fuel and oil into the exhaust, and thus the environment.
