Race exhausts from Akrapovic and Arrow

Akrapovic - The GSX-R1000 is currently the hottest bike in the 1000cc class, and is becoming the bike against which all racing designs are measured. Its character is obvious, and the development of an Akrapovic exhaust system for this model was a foregone conclusion. It was developed based on last years model, with a number of modifications and improvements. The Akrapovic RACING and EVOLUTION exhaust system for the 2003 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 will deliver results in a big way.

The evolution system starts to show its cards from 5400rpm on. The improvement over the standard power curve is clear and steady all the way to the top of the rpm range. At 11500rpm, the rear wheel receives 158.8bhp, and the maximum increased power is a full 12.6bhp at 12000rpm.
Arrow - The Competition line, totally designed and realised in the Arrow Special Parts R&D department, has been studied only for tuned bikes that will participate to racing events. This full exhaust system line represents the best of the Arrow production for competitions, granting the best performance together with the lightest weight possible: exhaust intermediate pipes are made of titanium to get the maximum of lightness; the header collectors are made of a special stainless steel of 0,8 mm thickness that insure non-deformability, performances and time resistance.

All these exhaust systems are equipped with the lambda sensor plug that helps on setting up the carburation (essential in all competitions). The exhaust silencer has a titanium sleeve with conical internal net that provides the best performance, while the noise level complies with the rules adopted in the different classes of competition (F.I.M.). The conicity of the pipes, the length, the diameter, etc. are different from those of the standard production; they are carefully checked and tested because the exhaust system performance depends on them, especially if used with racing purposes.

To get the best possible results from a race exhaust system, you will need to click the following links. The logic is simple, now that you can let more gases out, we can put more in and really improve the airflow and consequently increase the power and tractability of your bike.
